One of the more obvious benefits to a contoured seat is comfort. Did you know that by giving the seat a contoured shape, we are also adding strength?

Think of some common products that by changing a flat piece of aluminum into another shape – strength is created. If a self retracting tape measure was a flat piece of aluminum, a carpenter would not be able to extend the tape without someone holding the end. But by creating a trough in the metal, a person can extend the tape out 6 to 8 feet before it begins to bend. Aluminum gutters also are fabricated from flat aluminum. By shaping the gutter, a fairly thin piece of metal can hold an enormous amount of rain water.
