It all began with a carpenter and craftsman named Erie Sauder, who had a passion and knack for crafting furniture people really liked. At first, in the 1930’s, Mr. Sauder casually built worship furniture honoring requests from local churches. Over the years, as these communities became more and more aware of his fine craftsmanship at fair prices, the demand for his beautiful church furniture was exponentially growing. After completing these first few jobs, he felt such a passion about serving the needs of more congregations, so he gathered a few friends and relatives to form the founding roots of Sauder Manufacturing Company. Today, we continue Erie’s legacy, having served over 30,000 congregations throughout North America. The enduring beauty and stunning craftsmanship of our church furniture products exemplify the standards he established and we have upheld for more than seven decades.
